AS3 Task Five – Final Evaluation (Final Draft)

 Final Evaluation (Final Draft)

We planned to release our new upcoming fashion collection in the spring/summer of 2016- given the title of Elite Spring Collection. . Our opening idea was to release a 30 second television advertisement for our target audience aged 16-20 as we were convinced that our new fashion range will be suitable for this age group to wear since their ages fall onto our company's age range of young teens to young adults. The radical ideas for the advertisements production were established around naturist settings, like the weather. Due to the seasons falling into spring/summer our company decided to consider our upcoming product around these seasons as it was the suitable time of year to begin production. The clothes also gave thoughts to the season as we presented floral patterned clothing. The company has chosen the slogan "Simplicity always wins, Be Elite" this is due to the honour of our clothing line standing out above other clothing lines but yet still simple and we provide user friendly and comfortable fitting for all of our customers.

We used survey monkey, which was helpful since we gathered a lot of responses because it could be sent to a wide range of people, and it was short to the point so the information could be collated easily. The information gathered was both qualitative and quantitative which was helpful as it meant we gained more than one type of information. There were some open questions which asked for more details as it helped us decide whether our advert hit it's main purpose which was to get the audience to buy our clothes. Later on when I was done with filming and editing the advert, the next step was to get the audience feedback, The idea behind this is to know if our advert needs improvement so the viewers could have full acknowledgment of what the company, to get these feedback I held a focus group/screening.

I provided the focus group with the following questions:

1) Describe the Advert in one word and why.
2)Does the advert gives you an idea about what it is about?
3)In your opinion, do you think the advert was interesting/pleasing to watch?
4) Would you be interested about finding more about the company after watching the advert?
5)Would you recommend the advert?
6) Out of 5 what would you give the advert?

Overall I was able to receive positive feedback towards the final product. All members of the focus group stated that " It wasn't boring, got straight to the point" " Simple because there's not a lot going around so you can focus more on the designs"

I believe the advert was successful because my aim was to promote the product well and effectively, entertaining but also got to the point without wasting time. Moreover I have definitely taken the audience feedback into consideration for any future projects our company decides to produce. Something I would definitely count as a positive aspects of the final product is my editing skills it has advanced which enabled me to produce the advert. I was given the opportunity of filming most of the scenes. To summarise my whole performance on the formation of the product, i would say that i have improved my skills on producing adverts to a great standard and I'm proud of this end result.

My favourite scene was the shot of the group together in a circle because the scene was shot extraordinarily well. The shots in my opinion presents whats the company was willing to disposition to help sell our product on the market. The main improvement I would make on the final product is adding some more shots, the disadvantage is that because we only had 30 seconds to sell a product I couldn't fit as many shots and scene I wanted, most scene were only on for a second.

My main aim was  produce fashion TV advert and I have accomplished that, although their were times where things were not going as planned I would say the final product was suitable for our target audience and it can be broadcast at our chosen time of 18:00. Lastly Elite Spring Collection production has successfully been created and hopefully the Elite company will see diverse group of people wearing our range

AS3 Task Four – Final Evaluation (First Draft)

 Final Evaluation (First Draft)

The product
I have chosen to create an advert for Fashion (Clothes) as I believed it was a good market to go into.

Target Audience
The target audience which was the intentional audience was students and working class between 16-20 since these are the age range who are more likely to me really into fashion.

Idea behind the advert
The radical ideas were formed by using the weather and the spring/summer seasons and my group decided it would be appropriate to film the advert for fashion., we also all agreed to model.

Audience Feedback

Methods:
Survey Monkey was used to gather information in order to assign me with the results needed for main areas of the product such as the target audience and the quality of the actual product. Survey Monkey was a site I used to create a questionnaire for the public. After the completion of the advertisement, I revealed the final product to a focus group and I was given feedback on areas that were exceptional and areas that I needed improvement.
The type of feedback collect was qualitative and quantitative
Questions
The type of questions asked related to the theme of the advertisement. Shown below are the questions I asked the group.

What was said about the advert?
I received positive reviews, there weren't anything they suggested I should add or remove. The focus group liked the advert as they stated " It wasn't boring, got straight to the point" and I believe that my prepared questions were appropriate for the style of the advertisement.

Was it successful?
All-inclusive, I have confidence that advert was successful because I demonstrated the reasoning behind the advert, I would improve the advert by adding different shot angles. I agree with the feedback and I have taken it into refection.

The first modelling scene were exceptional, it was so smooth and in frame. My favourite shot was the group in a circle because it really showed the clothes in details. It was a good idea and successfully sells the product.
Since I didn't get a feedback about how I could improve my advert, I would say I could add more camera shots.

Target achieved?

I have achieved the target, my aim was to release a fashion advert and I have accomplished that.

AS3 Task Three – Sources of Information

Task Three – Sources of Information

Before starting the process of creating my advert I made sure that I had carefully planned and pre-produced all the documents necessary to create a good advert that appealed to my target audience. The planning ensured that I didn't miss out any key elements that would be vital when creating my advert. In the planning process I wrote notes on paper and created a storyboard with different ideas on how to create my advert, I also done significant research into my chosen area to help with my ideas and to decide which area was best to go into when creating an advert. Finally spoke with my group and collectively we decided that out of all the products we wanted to advertise, Clothes were the one.

The plan of my advert was important part in the production stage of making the advert, by conducting a plan I could see whether or not my ideas were interesting enough that they would appeal to a number of audience and target groups. in the plan I outlined the ideas for my advert and how I would benefit all audience , I made sure that I explained how I got my ideas, which was through the use of market research and research into other existing adverts on the same product. I could have improved my plan by explaining that I had a range of different ideas and decided which method to choose after talking with my group.

My storyboard played a vital role on my advert since it helped with organising how the advert will work and what it will look like once it is complete. The storyboard helped me decide how I would edit my advert as it allowed me to experiment with a range of shots to work out which one would work best, using a storyboard provides a visual idea of the outcome which able me to think of different shots and how I could use them. Throughout the production the storyboard is one of the documents I returned to most often as it acted as a guideline on how to create the advert.

Having a shooting schedule and a shot list was helpful when creating my advert as it helped us to stay on track with the different scenes we needed to shoot and where. I included the different shot i was going to include in certain places.
To make sure there would be enough space and permission was granted we had to plan the location. The production visit included a map of the area and routes to the location. We filmed our advert in a park so i included a map of the local area.

Overall, I would say the risk assessment, contingency plan and production budget documents were useful because without these documents it would have been increasingly difficult to produce the final advertisement. Next time I would give different camera angle shots on the storyboard and make it clear for others to understand.

AS3 Task Two – Screening/Focus Group

Screening/Focus Group

I asked Timi and Daniello an overall opinion about my advert these were their responses to the questions.

1) Describe the Advert in one word and why.

Timi ~ Simple because theres not a lot going around so you can focus more on the designs

Daniello ~ Simple because theres not much going around.

2)Does the advert gives you an idea about what it is about?

Daniello ~ Yeah because it shows you the clothes like the people like modelling them, the camera angles and that.

Timi ~ Yes because it shows the type of clothes that you be selling

3)In your opinion, do you think the advert was interesting/pleasing to watch?

Daniello ~ It was ok to watch like there was enough happening for me not to lose interest

Timi ~ it was appealing because it didn't take up too much time

4) Would you be interested about finding more about the company after watching the advert?

Danielle ~ I don't know the company name * Elite* - oh yeah why not

Timi ~ maybe another time

5)Would you recommend the advert?

Timi ~ Yeah because it was simple

Daniello ~ It wasn't boring, got straight to the point

6) Out of 5 what would you give the advert?

Daniello ~ 3 because its not too bad but like not that good

Timi ~ 4 because i was involved in the filming. because it was simple and short

The method I used to collect the audience feedback for my advert was through a focus group as it was a good way of collecting qualitative data that could be easily analysed. The pros of this method are that it means I can get detailed information would help me when improving my advert. Additionally having focus group in front of me meant that I could ask further questions if I needed any more information which would also help me when making improvements on my advert. The cons of this method are that because there is a lot more information, therefore when analysing I have to make that I write everything down all the comments, furthermore the people in my focus group were all males, which was not my main target audience.
